  • $18 million for falling into a manhole. 

A Brooklyn man was awarded $18 million as compensation for his medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering. He was walking in an alley when he fell into a manhole. There were no barricades or warning signs saying that the manhole was open. He sustained severe injuries that impacted his life permanently. 

  • $15 million for a fall from an exam table. 

A truck driver in Georgia went to a medical clinic for examinations. He was seated on the exam table while the clinic employee drew some blood. When the employee turned their back to do something, the truck driver passed out and fell on the floor, breaking his neck in the process. He was given $12 million for his injuries and $3 million for the impact on his wife’s life. 

  • $13 million to a woman shopping for plants. 

In Las Vegas, a woman slipped and fell while shopping for plants in Lowes Home Centre. The victim slipped on a slippery surface outside the store. Her lawyers helped her gather evidence regarding the same and were also able to prove that Lowes knew about the danger as 33 other accidents had previously already occurred there.
